Teijin Japan Accelerates Strategic Adjustment of Polyester Fiber Business

It is reported that in order to improve the market competitiveness of the polyester fiber business, Teijin Corporation of Japan has started its business restructuring since 2009. The first step in the reorganization was the termination of production of polyester filaments at the Matsuyama Plant in Japan. The company’s entire polyester filament production facility in Japan was transferred to Thailand at the end of fiscal 2010. According to the company's strategic adjustment, several special polyester filament production facilities still at the Matsuyama plant in Japan will also be transferred to the Thai base for production within two years. In addition to the transfer of living facilities, the company has taken steps to strengthen its production technology and development capabilities in Thailand and establish a company base in Thailand.

As the core production base of the company's polyester filament, the existing facilities of the Songshan plant will be upgraded and installed, and new equipment will be installed to meet the production needs of special products. It will mainly focus on the needs of the automotive and environmental industries, and will continue to expand its special polyester The share of filament production reaches 70%-80%.
