The new book “Color of Porcelain” by the collector Ma Weidu (Weibo) was recently published by the Forbidden City Press. The book is a professional book about ceramics that Ma Weidu wrote for a year but he wanted for 10 years. Ma Weidu explained the causes of ceramics from the perspective of ceramic glazes in the book “Porcelain Colors”. With a large number of pictures, he systematically elaborated the colors of porcelain.

The book is divided into 12 chapters, each chapter is consistent with the age, and describes the causes, development, and characteristics of porcelain, white, black, green, yellow, green, red, blue, official glaze, stain, bionic and other color glaze porcelain. With more than 370 pictures, it shows the charm of monochrome glazed porcelain. Ma Weidu said: "The name of the book is "Ceramic Color" in an attempt to explain the cause of glaze colors in porcelain. There are two kinds of decorative methods for porcelain: Glaze and ornamentation. The former is abstract and the latter is concrete. Abstract is difficult, figurative and easy, and porcelain is later on the ornamentation. The time is greater than the glaze, and the Chinese are accustomed to the expression of the ornamentation, ignoring the intention of glaze."
